Green Power: refers to environmentally preferable energy and energy products. Sustainability: Simply put, it means “I Care.” I care about our future and will make changes now so that my actions can provide the best outcome for humanity and the environment. Eco Friendly or Green Product: refers to a product that is environmentally and socially friendly Conservation: the preservation and careful management of the environment and natural resources Recycle: To use again. (aluminum cans, paper, ink cartridges) Energy Star: a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. CFL: Compact florescent light. Most efficient lighting option on the market. CFL’s put out more light and cost 75% less to run. CO2: Carbon dioxide Global Warming: CO2 warms our atmosphere which is what causes Earth to be habitable. However due to our overuse of oil, and burning of forests the earth is warming to unhealthy above normal temperatures. |
