Our goal this year is to simply make you comfortable with the process of being environmentally friendly by giving you simple ways to begin the process of change. Some of the public is often under the notion that recycling, reusing, conserving is expensive and tedious. This year we hope to show you that conserving puts money in your pocket while benefiting the world! Requirements: 1) Create an Energy Team by seeking out employees who uphold your commitment to the environment. Your team will conduct an energy audit that will isolate your facilities energy wasters. 2) Train your staff. We will send you the in service on ways to conserve, recycle, and reuse. Have them sign their commitment on our GCCA attendance form. 3) Make a pledge. Based on your audit, create at least five realistic goals and pledge to complete them by the end of the year. GCCA will assist you by monitoring your progress while encouraging and being a resource for you. 4) Implement a recycling program. 5) Provide incentives for employees that car pool such as an assigned parking space. 6) Pledge to buy Energy Star rated equipment.
GCCA members that fulfill their requirements will be awarded the Energy Champion certificate.
