Green Care Centers are care centers that provide a “greener” environment by recycling, reusing, and conserving. 

Our association provides the resources, education, and encouragement to assist our members in creating and maintaining a greener environment.

Who are the members of Green Care Centers?

Long term care facilities, assisted living facilities, hospitals, clinics, and children’s centers

How  will a Green Care Center benefit my family?

Green Care Center’s distinguish themselves by providing a superior level of comfort while being accountable for the environment. 

Our members care.  They are committed to sustainability by creating positive change now so that future generations can benefit.

 

What are some of the things I might see at a Green Care Center?

· Energy conserving lights

· Reusable materials

· Water saving devices

· Activities to help the environment

· An employee driven Energy Team

 

How are our centers measured and made “greener”?

· An Energy Team is appointed and audits your current energy spending.  Based on their audit, the energy team will create goals to lower their energy spending and promote behavioral changes in their facility.

· GCCA will monitor the progress of each facility and will award them the Energy Champion award once their goals have been reached
